It's going to be tough for 2016 to live up to the quality of 2015; in every capacity. Whether that be with indie games like Undertale and Rocket League, cross-platform triple A titles such as The Witcher 3, [Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain](tag:2683985) and Fallout 4, or awesome exclusives like Rise of the Tomb Raider and the masterful Bloodborne.
We're wondering whether 2016 has what it takes to match this level of quality. There's a long lineup of exclusive games due to arrive in this new year, but there are two new IPs that have garnered considerable attention.
Horizon Zero Dawn & Quantum Break: Xbox One Vs PS4 For Exclusive Game Of 2016
I honestly don't know which title I'm looking forward to more. Obviously if you only own one of these consoles, either an XBOX One or a PS4, your hype will be limited to one. But objectively, Remedy Entertainment with Quantum Break and Guerrilla Games with Horizon Zero Dawn have two very interesting IPs in development.
One gives us the power of time in order to manipulate the battlefield in whatever way we see fit. The other places us hundreds of years into the future, as mankind returns to their hunter and gatherer form, only this time they're combating wild robotic beasts that have taken over the planet.
Who won last year in your honest opinion? I personally feel that the Playstation 4 had a much stronger lineup of exclusive games than Microsoft's system. The PS4 had Bloodborne, Until Dawn, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, Helldivers, Rocket League, Axiom Verge, Grow Home, SOMA, and more. The Xbox One on the other hand had Ori and the Blind Forest, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Halo 5, Forza Motorsport 6, and not much else that garnered a lot of critical attention.
But Microsoft aim to completely turn that around this year with some games that are bound to dazzle us all. But does Quantum Break have what it takes to surpass Horizon Zero Dawn? Can the makers of Mad Max 1 & 2 and the cult classic Alan Wake knock it out of the park with a cast that includes Aiden Gillen and Shawn Ashmore? We have faith!
Which Release Date Has Your Vote?
There's no guarantee that either of these IPs will be any good on their respective release dates. A lot of us thought that [The Order: 1886](tag:2707754)
would be good, and look how that mess turned out! Perhaps one of these titles will completely flop. But do you have faith? Try be as objective as possible when you look at these two games and decide which one you'd most like to play in 2016!
