Laugh all you want about the reality of a Baywatch movie hitting the screen, but it's on its way in all the slow-mo beach-running goodness.

Baywatch, if you didn't already know was an uber-popular show in the early to mid 90's that followed a collection of attractive lifeguards who patrolled a crowded recreational beach. The lifeguards faced dangers outside of just saving swimmers who happened to be drowning, as they encountered shark attacks, serial killers, earthquakes and even nuclear bombs. Yet with all this action, the show truly did focus on the incredibly beautiful cast.

When the news broke that Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson would be leading a feature film based on Baywatch, we were all skeptical to say the least, and still probably are. Yet as the casting begins to round out, it's starting to look more like what we've seen lately with a few other classic television shows turned movies; Get Smart, 21 Jump Street and Charlies Angels - a focus on the comedic side while trying to pay homage to the original.

We already know that the two male leads will be portrayed by Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron, and the two primary female characters are going to be played by Alexandra Daddario and Kelly Rohrbach. With the cast filling out, it was only time before we found out who the next casting addition would be, and it appears that Baywatch may have found it's villainous lead straight out of India.

Priyanka Chopra

Now, honestly I don't know much about Bollywood other than there have been a collection of incredible actors and actresses to come from there, and Priyanka is one of htose actresses. At 33 years old, she is the first South Asian actress to claim the lead role in a network show on Quantico.

Baywatch is set to splash onto the big screen in 2017.

Is this a good step for Baywatch?
