One Direction has allegedly gone their separate ways and multiple press sources are reporting that the much-beloved boy band's extended hiatus will become a permanent split.
A source close to the band reportedly whispered into the ear of US Weekly that the band has declined to renew their contracts because their six-year career together feels stale, they said:
"The 1D thing just ran its course. They’ll remain friends, but they are exhausted and want solo careers.”
In August 2015, the teeny bopper heartthrobs announced they would be taking a hiatus beginning in March, and a large amount of the press cycle for the band’s fifth album, 'Made In The A.M.,' focused on the remaining four band members, discussing their plans for the break.
Of course, anyone who has even been in a turbulent relationship will know that 'taking a break' more often than not leads to an inevitable break up, but One Direction fans are still understandably shocked about the sudden end to the super successful pop group.
Below are just a few of the emotional outpou-rings that have been sobbed out in the poetic form of Twitter's 140 characters:
The 1D boys are yet to report on the break up, but we will be bringing you updates as soon as there is any official word to kill or confirm these rumors.
