It's been over 10 years since we saw the Friends gang all in the same room, and since then we've been praying for a reunion. However, it seems the television gods have been listening as we've just heard the entire Friends cast is returning for a two hour NBC special.
The news, which emerged from the Television Critics Association’s press tour in Pasadena on Wednesday, states that Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer will all return and feature in a tribute celebrating the career of comedy director James Burrows.
As well as directing countless episodes of Friends, Burrows has also helmed episodes of Taxi, The Bob Newhart Show, and Cheers and this special will be broadcast to celebrate the shooting of his 1,000th episode of television.
Check out the 'Friends' cast discussing their final episode below:
Although, the special is nominally about Burrows's whole career — and not just Friends — the reunion of the gang on screen will certainly be a highlight. Unfortunately, there is the chance the reunion might not be as potent as you might like, as getting them all in one room might be quite the challenge. According to NBC chief Robert Greenblatt:
“I’m hoping all six will be in same room at same time, I’m not sure we can logistically can pull it off."
Let's hope they can all get their calendars out, move some dates and appear together!
