The DC Cinematic Universe is kicking off this March with Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, but before that movie comes out, DC have plans for a full expansive cinematic universe. One of the upcoming films slated for release is a stand alone Aquaman film starring Jason Momoa (Game Of Thrones), and he may have found his co-star.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Amber Heard (The Danish Girl, Magic Mike XXL) is in talks to co-star in Aquaman alongside Jason Momoa who'll be playing the titular hero.
Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that she is set to make a first appearance in 2017's Justice League. Heard will play Mera, the love interest of Aquaman. The standalone Aquaman film is currently in the script stage of development with two separate scripts being worked on simultaneously.
David Johnson (Wrath Of The Titans, The Conjuring 2) is writing one script for Warner Bros. and the other is being written by Kurt Johnstad (300, 300: Rise Of An Empire).
Justice League is set to go into production April 2016 for a November 2017 release. Aquaman is slated for a July 2018 release.
