The first full length trailer for this year's Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice hit the web during Comic Con last year and blew all of us away as one of the best trailers that year, but the more recent and revealing trailer for the superhero film had a lot of us scratching our heads, wondering why Warner Bros. seemingly gave away the entire film within the trailer. Director Zack Synder has now revealed why he believes the audience is better off knowing Doomsday is in the film, his comments read as follows:

"We had a long conversation about just taking ownership of that, of giving it to the audience in a controlled way that I felt was consistent with the escalation of the campaign. To us it really made sense to give Doomsday to the audience now. I really wanted to make the audience a promise that...though I'm super excited and happy and fulfilled by the conflict of Batman and Superman, there's also a bigger world to start to think about."

I think I speak for many of us when I say that we would have preferred to have been surprised by the reveal of Doomsday within the film. I feel that the marketing should have solely focused on the conflict between Batman and Superman whilst teasing a larger universe, rather than just showing us it in the trailer. Take a look at the trailer:

The latest trailer for Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice did taint my anticipation for the film slightly, as I feel like we've seen how the film is going to play out almost beat for beat. I'm still incredibly excited about the film as we all should be, after all, this is the first time we're seeing these two characters together in a live action film, but Warner Bros. definitely made a mistake with that last trailer.

I believe the reveal of Doomsday and the formation of the Justice League was a mistake in the marketing, because whilst most of us knew that these things were probably going to happen in the movie, we don't necessarily need to see it in a trailer. Snyder does say that they wanted to put the reveal out there in a "controlled way" as like most of these things, Doomsday may have possibly leaked on the internet before the film's release, we already heard Michael Shannon accidentally saying he was in some form of Motion Capture costume.

Am I wrong? Or do you agree with Snyder? Let me know in the comments or on Twitter @JamesPorter97
