She spiced up our lives for the most part of the '90s, and even returned for the odd reunion performance over the years, but now, it seems that Posh Spice is ready to leave her poker face and sleek bob behind. What a sad, sad, day for the Spice World.
After reports that the Spice Girls might be reuniting for the group's 20th anniversary, it has emerged that Victoria Beckham will not be joining them to mark the two decades of the band.
Apparently, she's done with her musical career past and has no plans to relive the good ol' days with her four other band members. Vicky B's representative issued the following statement:
"[Victoria] has been very respectful about the fabulous time they had together in the past, however her focus is now very much her family and fashion business."
Although this came as a huge disappoint to millions of fans around the world, who were looking forward to the five-some stepping out for a few performances, it is understandable that Mrs. Beckham wants to focus on her fashion empire and genetically-blessed family. Even in an interview with Vanity Fair magazine last year, she said:
"Sometimes you've got to know when it's time to leave the party. Doing the Olympics was an incredible honor. I was so proud to do it. That was a perfect time to say, 'That's great. Thank you to everybody, but no more.'"
Here's a clip of the iconic performance for the 2012 London Olympics:
Yet, according to sources, even David Beckham has been urging Victoria to re-consider her decision, but to no avail. And the greatest shame is this -- last month Scary Spice (Mel B) also said that she would only take part in a reunion if all of the original members did too. As Victoria isn't returning, neither is she.
Despite this though, Geri continues to insist that nothing is certain quite just yet. She said:
"When It's definite we'll announce it together."
Finger's crossed that Victoria can be persuaded!
