Well, you read the title.
I grew up watching the Harry Potter films. While I loved the performances of Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and out of everyone, I think my favorite performance in the series was done by English actor Alan Rickman, who portrayed Severus Snape, Harry's mean Potions master.
Today, on January 14, 2016, Alan Rickman died of cancer at age 69. He wasn't only in Harry Potter, but he also portrayed the villainous Hans Gruber in the movie, Die Hard, Harry in Love Actually, and Sheriff of Nottingham in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.
Now, this did not just make me depressed, but it also had an effect on his Harry Potter co-workers. And some others.
“I am devastated to hear about the passing of Alan Rickman, I feel so privileged to have had the opportunity to work with him on numerous occasions – Even though he has gone – I will always hear his voice. My thoughts are with his friends and family at this time.” - Rupert Grint
Out of all the deaths of Harry Potter actors, I think this is the saddest of all. Alan has entertained us for years. Rest in peace.
It's been great, Alan. And you will forever be remembered in our hearts.
