One of the most accomplished, beautiful, and down-to-earth actors of today is Jennifer Lawrence. And as of this morning, 8:30 AM ET, J Law officially became the youngest actor ever to earn four Academy Award nominations.
Lawrence's first Oscar nomination came at the age of 21 for her performance as a young woman in the rural Ozarks who goes in search of her missing father to help save her family in Winter's Bones.
Two years later, Lawrence was nominated once again for her brilliant performance of Tiffany Maxwell, a severely depressed widow, in David O. Russel's Silver Linings Playbook. And to no one's surprise, she took home that little gold statue, but not after gracefully tripping up the steps to the stage (which makes us love her even more).
In 2013, David O. Russel brought Lawrence back to the Academy Awards. She was nominated, once again, for her portrayal of Rosalyn, Christian Bale's unpredictable, nearly insane, wife, in American Hustle.
Which leads us finally to the present. She has now been nominated for her fourth Academy Award for David O. Russel's Joy.
By 25 years old, Jennifer Lawrence has had three Lead Actress nods and one Supporting. I'm not sure about you, but I couldn't be more excited for this Kentucky native. It is refreshing to look up to someone who is so talented, but who is also so grounded and honest.
" I don't know if this is why everything has worked so well and I'm not sure I'd recommend this kind of thinking to anyone else, but I've always known I'd be successful in acting. I have certainly worked for it."
The future is bright for my girl J Law. And with the recent news of her scoring a part in Darren Aronofsky's next yet-to-be-titled film (which is set to be released next year), I'm sure we may be seeing a fifth Oscar nod for her in 2018.
