Whilst I like to think of myself as fairly cynical, it pains me to admit that I actually scare pretty easy. The kind of person that will beg to put a horror flick on and then spend the next hour and a half hiding behind a cushion. By repeating, 'it's only a movie,' I can usually shake the terrifying tingles horror stories deliver. However, when the lines between fiction and reality appear to blur, I just cannot deal.

So, on that note, here are 6 creepy as hell clips which truly question the existence of supernatural horrors...

1. The Devil Tree

In December 2015 two Ohio hikers stumbled across a tree with its innards ablaze. One of the hikers can be heard exclaiming, "What the f**k?! How is this even possible?” during the clip above and many of their 90,000 viewers have offered answers. Some say lightening, some say chimney effect, whilst others make the perfectly sane conclusion that this burning tree is the work of the devil, and this, proves his existence.

2. Cata-tombs

Although the narration of this clip is pretty creepy (voiced by Poltergeist's Zelda Rubenstein, btw), the story it tells is far creepier.

Paris's catacombs are 400 miles of underground ossuaries which contain the remains of approximately six million people, and it was within these walls that a video was found. Its filmed by a man, who at some point begins to run and breathes heavily, as if frightened. Could something be chasing him? Eventually the man drops the camera and we see his feet run away, but who this man is, or was, or what could have possibly created such a terrified reaction remains a mystery.

3. 'It's Them'

In April 2014 Reddit user Redwantsblue80 (a.k.a Jenny) uploaded a seriously unnerving soundbite she recorded using the application 'Sleep as Android.' The app, up until this point, was used to help Jenny sleep but what she discovered did anything but.

If you listen to the recording, around 0:08 you firstly hear some clicks before hearing Jenny ask, 'what are you doing?', to which a male voice responds, 'nothing.' The clicks then begin again, getting continually louder until the man speaks again saying something which sounds like, 'it's them.'

What makes these recording spookier still is that Jenny was home with only her 3-year-old son for company that night, and the voice heard in the clip is distinctly male.

4. w-OOOOF

This 2008 home video shows a series of unusual activities occurring in a family home, believed to be the work of a pesky poltergeist. This could easily be dismissed as a hoax, but the reaction of the two dogs indicates that there's something seriously creepy is at work.

5. Out of this World

In 1995 over 60 school children in Zimbabwe reported seeing flying objects land on the school grounds, and two humanoid alien coming out of them. On noticing the children, the aliens returned to their objects and quickly flew off.

Whilst it's not uncommon for children to imagine fantastical stories about UFO's and aliens, this story is unusual because of the interviews which followed with Harvard psychologist Dr. John Mack. Each child maintained their stories, and backed them up with drawings. Several of the older children also believed that these unidentified creatures had communicated with them, sending messages of the eventual destruction of the planet. Freaky!

6. Angel Hair

Another bizarre incident involving potential other worldly creatures, in 1959 residents of Evora in Portugal reported seeing flying objects hovering over the city. A short while later it began raining down a mysterious white substance similar to cobwebs.

The 'angel hair,' as it's known, rained down for approximately four hours before ceasing. What's weirder still is that when examined, the 'angel hair' was in fact an organism with 10 'arms' stretching from a central core. Although some have theorized the mysterious rain could have been jelly fish, others believe its potentially a micro-organism that normal resides in the upper-layer of the atmosphere.
