Over the next four years a large number of comic book movies are going to be coming our way, from Deadpool this February, then Batman V Superman in March all the way to the likes of Cyborg and Green Lantern in 2020 (Separate films, although we are more than likely to see them team up before their own solo films in Justice League!)

The question is, by 2020 will we all be sick of superhero flicks? My answer: No. But that’s just me. Personally, I can’t get enough of that type of film due to being such a big fan of the comics however not everyone shares this enthusiasm. A few of my friends are tired of them already but to me the surface has only been scratched. This might be the problem though; I have an idea of what is coming. For a comic book fan, seeing the title Thor: Ragnarok fills me with excitement because I know what it could mean. To my friends all it means is a third Thor film.

Deadpool. The Merc with a Mouth. Kicking ass.

So how will the big cheeses of Hollywood keep the general public’s interest? One method that I am a massive fan of is introducing a wide range of exciting characters. Bringing more characters to life allows for the general audience to discover the character they find more interesting. To be honest, I can completely understand if people are sick of Iron-Man and Captain America. Those two have dominated for too long! With DC’s Batman V Superman introducing Batman, Wonder-Woman, Lex Luthor and potentially introducing The Flash, Cyborg and Aquaman, there is guaranteed to be many more long-term fans because they can find a character to relate to.
