If you've watched the latest BATMAN V SUPERMAN clip then you've heard the line "The Bat is dead. Bury it." And if you've watch the full trailer and seen the black Robin suit, you may have noticed that it looks a lot like a Batman costume. So consider this:
Is BATMAN V SUPERMAN sequel to THE DARK KNIGHT RISES?
We know that Bruce Wayne faked The Dark Knight's death so people think/thought he was/is dead ("The Bat's dead") so knowing he killed the Batman off (which was then replaced by the black suited Robin) is Clark saying “You killed Batman off, now make sure he stays buried. Because if you bring him back, I'll have to beat him.”?
bAlso, if John 'Robin' Drake too up the Batsuit and was killed by the Joker, possibly revealing in his dying moments that he wasn't the real/original Batman (which leads to that "You let your family die" letter from the Joker seen in the trailers) Did John getting beaten to death bring Bruce back to Gotham?
Remember … Christian Bale was offered $50-million to reprise the role of Bruce Wayne, and he turned it down so that those movies woudl stand alone. Did this result from his friendship with Christopher Nolan?
It would be a a mistake to ignore all the ground work set by the Nolan/Goyer movies so far, especially when there are so many Batman stories to be told and everyone wanting to see them all.
I guess we'll know soon enough.
Batman V Superman sees Lex Luthor try to manipulate Bruce Wayne into killing Superman using technology developed by Lex Corp in collaboration with Wayne Enterprises abd feeding his right-wing paranoia. But when Bruce finds out he's been deceived, Lex dons an improved suit to try to kill the Man of Steel himself. When that fails, Lex unleashes his plan to destroy the Man of Tomorrow with a beastly resurrection of Zodd.
