Many fans all around world are sad because Alan Rickman (69) lost his battle with cancer and went on to a place of rest. His most famous roles were Sheriff George of Nottingham in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Hans Gruber in Die Hard, Proffesor Severus Snape in Harry Potter movies and many others. We’re remembering one of our favorite wizards with '10 Facts You Should Know About Alan Rickman' and we know he went to the better place.
Rickman was in a relationship with his teenage sweetheart Rima Horton since 1965. After being in a relationship for forty-seven years they eventually got married in 2012.
He didn’t have any children even though he stated he would have liked to have had a family. He decided against it because he wanted to respect his wife’s wish that they not have children.
He failed his California driving test the first time he tried for “driving too cautiously through a green light.”
Though he was great at playing baddies, he had a huge heart.
Alan’s final job was taping a voiceover for the short film, This Tortoise Could Save A Life, for the Save the Children and Refugee Council, according to The Guardian. He was also the Honorary President of International Performers Aid Trust, an organization assisting artists and performers challenged by poverty.

Rickman was offered the role two days after arriving in Hollywood for the first time.
