With the commercial success from J.K. Rowling and the John Green books, young adult literature has hit a whole new generation of book lovers and movie fanatics.
With so many new releases coming to us, these are a few of my personal favorites coming to the big screen.
1. Pride and Prejudice and zombies by Seth Grahame-Smith and Jane Austen
Seeing the book cover at Barnes and Noble made me just stop and laugh but overall the coolest book I've read. Who doesn't like zombies right now. the way they switched up the original to make it about zombies was beyond awesome and from looks of the trailer, Director Burr Steers has a pretty solid imagination of this book.
2. Miss Peregrine's Home of Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs
When they first announced that they were gonna be making the books into movies, I literally cried in excitement. When they announced that one of my favorite actresses, Eva Green, was to play Miss Peregrine, was just the cherry on top of the perfect sundae. Tim Burton was the ideal person to direct this movie and I cannot wait to see his vision come to life on the many 'peculiar' scenes.
3. The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling
Directed from the fantastic Jon Favreau, comes the most well known Disney classic, The Jungle Book. As a kid, i didn't really like the cartoon version very much because I didn't grow up on old school Disney but the book was a whole other story. Being one of the first books I've owned and read, I've held this book dearly to my heart and waiting to see them to come to life has been a pretty long wait. I know Mr. Favreau will not disappoint.
4. The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey
I've never seen a movie before I've read the book but sometimes I break the rules. Looking at the trailer and reading the synopsis of it, the movie looks pretty good. Chloë Grace Moretz manages to learn how to kick ass while going to save her brother as the earth goes to complete crap. The book is still on my reading list and the movie is definitely on my watch list.
5. Allegiant: The Divergent Series
Continuing the trend of strong female protagonists and movie finales cutting their films into two parts, Allegiant comes to an end very very soon. I've closely watched this movie franchise grow and have come to love it. Tris and her squad leave the city to find peace to their hateful city. With everything in hand, I hope they don't throw up on the ending and speed up all the information that is needed for the movie. Of course I'm not spoiling anything for those that haven't read the book.
What books are you guys excited to see come to life. leave a comment and continue the conversation.
