March 25th may be date Gal Gadot will make her sliver screen debut as Wonder Woman in Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice, but news about her solo outing have been coming in. More casting news have hit the web while filming is still underway which started in November.

Chris Pine, who will play Steve Trevor in the film has been one of many who have been officially announced. The movie's plot is yet to be announced, but it is rumored to have many timelines all throughout, with World War 1 as one of the time periods containing Pine's Trevor.

Courtesy of The Hollywood Reporter, there have been more casting news, and it is a very important role that will be filled by actress Connie Nielsen, who is known for her role as Roman Empress Lucilla in the film Gladiator, and know she will play Amazon queen Hippolyta. Nicole Kidman was first rumored to be playing the part but dropped out because of scheduling conflicts. Also Robin Wright was rumored to play Hippolyta, but it is now reporting that she will play another character in the film.

Other actors have been cast as undisclosed roles such as David Thewlis (Harry Potter), Danny Huston (Clash of the Titans), Ewen Bremner (Snowpiercer), Elena Anaya (The Skin I Live In), Saïd Taghmaoui (American Hustle), and Lucy Davis (Shaun of the Dead). Patty Jenkins (Monster), who is directing the film is no stranger to comic book movies when she was hired to direct Thor: The Dark World for Marvel Studios but was later replaced for Alan Taylor. Jason Fuchs (Holy Rollers) is the screenwriter for Wonder Woman.

Batman V. Superman is the next big comic book movie for Warner Bros. We will see then if Gal Gadot is up to the task when playing such a beloved character then when it is released on March 25, 2016

Wonder Woman hits theaters on June 23rd, 2017
