Alright, so I finally got around to seeing this movie last night and I'm ready to give my thoughts. Now will this be Leo's first Oscar win? Let's find out!
Good: The first thing I have to say about this movie is that it's a visual masterpiece. All the lighting they used in this movie is all natural, and it looked great! I also have to say that the soundtrack was one of my favorites of 2015. The cast in this movie was great, we got Leo of course, and we got Tom Hardy which he gives one of his best, and we got Domhnall Gleeson, who probably is my favorite breakout star this year because he was in this movie, Ex Machina, and Star Wars! This kid's going places! I also really like Will Poulter who played Jim Bridger. There was also some really intense in suspenseful scenes that just glued me to the screen, this movie was gnarly when it came to injuries and stuff like that. Also there was a pretty great Star Wars reference in this movie, it wasn't like something comical, and it fit into the story too which was awesome.
Bad: Now my one big problem, which isn't that big of a problem was the bear scene because I still enjoyed it, but I think I enjoyed it in a different way than the movie intended it to. The scene was supposed to be really intense and scary, but I was laughing the entire time! Maybe that just goes to show what kind of person I am. Now this may sound weird but it's not that big of a deal, but one nit pick is that Leo's breathing in this movie was either annoying or funny and it sometimes took me out of the film.
Overall, this movie was pretty spectacular and a film that we will all look back at as a classic western, so I'm going to give the Revenant a 8.75/10.
So what did you guys think about the movie? It you have seen it comment below and give me your thoughts of the movie!
