Star Wars Rebels has been bringing back many characters from the first animated Star Wars series, The Clone Wars. We have gotten Ahsoka Tano, Captain Rex, and C-3PO and R2-D2. We will be getting Cham Syndulla, Yoda, and even Darth Maul. But there are many characters who did not get a full story. Many characters are ones that fans love, and want to see return. There are also many Legends characters that I think really should be brought back into the new canon. So, I'm going to give a list of characters that I think need to to return for Star Wars Rebels.

The Clone Wars Characters:

Bo-Katan

Bo-Katan wasn't very well known, but the people who knew her probably liked her. She was a Mandalorian and a member of Death Watch. But when Darth Maul came back with his brother Savage Opress, Maul killed Pre Vizsla, the leader of Death Watch. Maul gave the remaining Mandalorians a choice: join them or die. About half of them joined Maul, but the other half, led by Bo-Katan, resisted. Eventually Bo-Katan helped the Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi escape and that was the last we saw of her. Bo's story was never complete. She was a very interesting character that should be brought for Rebels. Maybe she could have ties to Sabine Wren, the Mandalorian on the show, or since Mandalorians will be returning in the second half of Season 2, she could have some part there.

Cad Bane

I think many people would agree that Cad Bane was one of the coolest characters on The Clone Wars. He was a ruthless bounty hunter that really should be brought back. He is actually rumored to appear in the next live action film, Rogue One. First, I would love that. Having him appear in live action would be amazing. But, if he doesn't appear in Rogue One, he needs to appear on Rebels. He would put up an enormous threat for the crew of the Ghost, and would provide a great story.

Mon Mothma

Mon Mothma wasn't the coolest character, but she was a big one. She appeared in Episode VI as a Rebel Alliance leader. She was actually the one, with a couple others, who started the Rebellion. But when The Clone Wars aired on TV, she was just shown as a politician. But in Rebels, she could have a very big role. Bail Organa has appeared and soon, so will Princess Leia. Now we just need Mon Mothma. She would be a great character to include, that would connect Rebels to The Clone Wars, the Prequel Trilogy, and the Original Trilogy.

Barriss Offee

Towards the end of The Clone Wars series, Barriss Offee had fallen to the dark side. She framed Ahsoka Tano for crimes she didn't commit, and eventually Barriss was imprisoned. That was the last we saw of her. What I believe would have happened, is that after Order 66 was initiated, Emperor Palpatine would have gone to the Republic prison and let everyone go. He would have found Barriss Offee and she would either found the Inquisitorius, or she would become an Inquisitor. Either way she became an Inquisitor. I am hoping that the new Inquisitor that will be revealed in the second half of Rebels's second season, is Barriss. She would be perfect for the show, and she needs her story complete.

Boba Fett's Syndicate

Boba Fett's Syndicate only appeared in one episode, but they appeared again in the canon novel Dark Disciple. In the book, the members were Boba Fett, Bossk, Lattz Razzi, C-21 Highsinger, and Embo. Dengar appeared as part of the team in The Clone Wars episode but didn't reappear in the book. I think if in an arc on Rebels, we could at least see Boba Fett, Bossk, Lattz Razzi, and Highsinger. I would love to see Dengar, because he doesn't get enough attention, and Embo would be awesome because he is may favorite Star Wars character, but the four would be okay. The group could have been hired by the Empire to kill the Rebel group, or for another reason. I just think more bounty hunters need to appear on Rebels.

Ben Kenobi

Technically, Obi-Wan Kenobi has already appeared on Rebels. He appeared on a holocron that Kanan Jarrus had, Obi-Wan warned the Jedi to stay away from Coruscant, and wait, for a new hope will rise. But, to me that wasn't a great appearance. It was cool, but Obi-Wan would be great to appear on the show as a real person. I'm not sure how they could do it, and I'm about 50% on him showing up and 50% not appearing at all. But I think they could find a good way to introduce him.

Legends Characters:

Mara Jade, The Emperor's Hand

Mara Jade is one my favorite Legends characters. Her story is one of the best, and it would fit perfectly on Rebels. The Emperor could send her to kill the Rebels, but she fails, or maybe she had to go to another mission before she could kill all of them. She should really be brought back into the new canon, and Rebels is one of the best places for her.

Grand Admiral Thrawn

First of all, I'm hoping that Benicio del Toro is playing Grand Admiral Thrawn in Episode VIII. But it would be better for the character if he appeared on Rebels first. Many fans love him, including me. His story would be well played into Rebels. He is part of the Empire, but he isn't as smart and strong as he was in the Thrawn trilogy (which isn't canon), or in Episode VIII.

Starkiller

Starkiller, in my opinion, has the best story in Star Wars. I have played both of The Force Unleashed games multiple times and I love them. I've read the first of The Force Unleashed book duology, and it is also awesome. Starkiller could be introduced as another Inquisitor, but actually there is much more to him: he is Darth Vader's apprentice. This all probably couldn't be explained in Rebels, but his story could be expanded upon in books or another game. Overall, he is a great character whose story would be perfect for Rebels.

Lumiya

Lumiya is just awesome! She doesn't have a lightsaber... she has a lightwhip! She is one of The Emperor's agents, and probably his best one besides Mara Jade. The Emperor could send her to kill the Rebels, and maybe she kills one, but not the rest. I mainly just want her to be canon, and I thought Rebels would be a good place for her.

There you have it. That was my list of characters from The Clone Wars and Legends that I think should appear on Rebels. I think many of these characters would fit on the show, and some not as much as others, but it would be awesome to see any of these characters!

In the mean time, check out the Season 2 trailer for Star Wars Rebels!
