Grand Theft Auto V was a pretty big game. Okay, that is an understatement, it broke seven World Records including highest revenue generated by an entertainment product in 24 hours and fastest entertainment property to ever gross $1 billion. It is the biggest game.
But, being released three years ago now (that long ago?), many fans have been pining for a new Rockstar game. And especially after 2015 which was a massive year for gaming, they will not want to wait around too long to miss out again.
Last year we were gifted with some great game follow-ups. Bethesda treated us to Fallout 4, EA gave us Star Wars: Battlefront 3 and CD Projekt RED blessed us all with the masterpiece that is The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Even Halo 5: Guardians and Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 weren't too shitty.
Rockstar certainly want to make an impression this year and with the grand capabilities the PS4 and Xbox One possess, it is this game title that has got fans quivering. No, GTA VI is very far off, and no (even though it would be cool) Bully 2 has not been in the reckoning, but rather a sequel to Red Dead Redemption.
Mutterings on Reddit from an apparent ex-Rockstar employee have rippled throughout the internet as an early 2016 release named Red Dead Redemption 2: Legends of the Old West is to be expected.
Now, there has been nothing official, and an anonymous account means nothing usually, but nevertheless all Rockstar enthusiasts will hope the rumours are true, as this game deserves a follow-up.
It seemingly follows the story of three characters in the first game: Seth and Irish, and a customisable character of your choice. According to the Reddit user, you can create your own character, purchase safehouses and join gangs.
Of course nothing is concrete yet, and Rockstar may have something completely different up their sleeve. All that can be said is that they have been awfully quiet for quite some time now, almost too quiet...
