After all five seasons of American Horror Story, which is was renewed for a 6th back in November, it has been consisted in five distinct places, a Los Angeles haunted house, a 1960s mental institution in Massachusetts, a New Orleans-based witch coven, and a freak show in the 1950s and the newest a supernatural hotel which took place in present day Los Angeles. As of now we don't know when and where the next Horror story will take place but we might have gotten a hit of what's in store next for the award winning series.

According to TVLine, FX president John Landgraf told reporters at the Television Critics Association winter press tour that season 6 would be “set in the present” with “echoes of the past.

“It’s set in two time periods, but principally in the present. Ryan [Murphy] will kill me if I tease anything [else].”

The three present day American Horror Stories which are Murder House, Coven and Hotel show various scenes of the past through flashbacks, and Hotel, the most recent one was the most consistent at doing it.

Creator Ryan Murphy spoke about the upcoming new season to Entertainment Weekly that it will be very different than Hotel but will bring back Lady Gaga, who won an Golden Globe for her performance in season 5 as The Countess last week. She was cast after Jessica Lange departed from the series after Freak Show, but it is not officially confirmed to return to the show as of now.

The series have been going back and forth between being scary like the first two seasons and being just an normal average drama. The consistency is just not there with each season starting off with a strong premise but then starts to go all over the place with the story and it's characters.

Murphy has brought new changes to televison by help bringing out multiple anthology series which has become a huge trend. Other networks will start to bring out more including ABC's American Crime, and FX is bringing out a new series titled American Crime Story which is about the infamous O.J. Simpson trial starting in February.

American Horror Story season 6 is scheduled to premiere in fall 2016.
