All you have to do is Google “Supernatural season 12” and your feels will start getting all feelsy. Site after site asks the same question:
Will Supernatural come back for a season 12?
Here are a few examples:
They all seem to be pretty hopeful, pointing in the same direction, and all quoting this recent quote from Mark Pedowitz, CW prez:
“Both Jared and Jensen are having a blast,” noted the exec. “As long as they’re having a blast, it’s a great thing. The show is performing better than it did last year, better than you could ever hope. I’m very hopeful that we’ll see it again.”
It's great to see that the freakin' president of the network is on board with keepin the show going, but for crying out loud, can they give us something solid? How does it go? If ifs and buts were candies and nuts, we'd all have a Supernatural Christmas? Speaking of which, watch this:
So assuming season 12 happens, what the heck could possibly happen on the show that would keep the viewers viewing? Over the last 11 seasons, the boys have fought, found their father, lost their father, become superhuman demon blood powered psychics, open the gates of hell, killed yellow eyes, started the apocalypse, stopped the apocalypse, let satan loose, captured him again, lost their soul, got it back, buddied up with angels, buddied up with the new satan, maybe even met God, and made out with demons and God's sister, The Darkness. Oh, and there was also Deanmon. And satan may escape his cage again.
So what could happen in season 12? Especially since they're supposed to meet God in season 11, which seems like it would be the last hurrah for the guys' adventures.
Here's what I, personally, would love to see happen.
Once they've helped God vanquish his sis again, and made the world right, what they (and we) need is another season of down and dirty monster slaying. The amount of monsters the Winchesters have killed is beyond crazy, but there will never be a shortage of ideas for new monsters, especially in Dean and Sam's world. And with all this talk of possibly canceling (gack) the show after it's (record-breaking!) 11 season run on CW, why not go back to their roots, and have them put foot to ass with monsters, demons, and monster demons again?
What better way to end the series, should it not make it past 12 seasons? Like Prez Mark said, both Jensen and Jared are both still having a blast, and as much as we'd all like it to last, the show can't last forever.
...or can it?
