Pretty much a fan of all but if you come at me with horror I have a salt shaker and an iron rod and I'm not afraid to use them :D

For decades, the big screen has shown the family turmoil that plagued the Skywalker family and cursed the galaxy to suffer from decades of unrest and chaos. For years to come, fans of the block buster Star Wars franchise will eagerly await the release of the highly anticipated Han Solo and possible Obi-Wan Kenobi origin films. However, I believe, that one character, whose past has been shrouded in mystery, even to the famoumous George Lucas, deserves his own origin story- Master Yoda.

Since The Empire Strikes Back, this mysterious little green Jedi has entertained audiences with his wisdom, skill and surprising strength. Over the years, we have come to learn a few things about him too. His appearance is based upon the famous Albert Eistein and the makeup artist that made the initial Yoda puppet. We know that he was exactly 900 year old when he died and that he was initially meant to be called Buffy. These are all pretty interesting things, but sadly, it tells us nothing about the past of this diminutive Jedi.

With 900 years under his belt, I'd imagine Yoda would have quite a few stories he might eagerly recount to young Padawans on cold, stormy nights and I think I speak for most fans when I say we would be just as eager as those young Jedi to hear them. Maybe, using his strange style of speech we have all come to love, he would finally answer some of the questions that have been piling up over the years. What race is he and what is his home planet? How and who were the Jedi who found and trained him? How was young Yoda as a padawan? Was he mischievous and rebellious like Anakin, or curious and eager like Luke? Had he ever been been tempted by the dark side? How did Yoda rise within the ranks of the Jedi order and become one of the most famous and formidable Jedi Masters in history? These are just some of the many questions such a movie would, hopefully, answer.

George Lucas himself said:

So he's a mystery character, he's a magical character. He has no background. He come and he goes. He's the subversive secret mysterious stranger that enters the film and then exists at the end.

I think that Yoda truly has become the 'subversive secret, mysterious stranger' Lucas wished him to be, however, I feel he failed in one aspect. Once he entered the film, even after his death, Yoda never really left the fans' hearts. That's why I think it would be really amazing to know what created this iconic character that has moulded this franchise almost as strongly as any Skywalker.

Should they make a Yoda origins film?
