Scorch Trials Review

Now I know what you're thinking, why would I see this movie in the theaters? Well to be fair I saw the first movie on TV and thought it was decent with the Lord of the Flies motif throughout the whole movie. Secondly the trailers seemed to make the movie more action packed in various spots and tell you the truth it was and I am a sucker for the whole desert post apocalypse thing due to the Fallout Game series. So I'd figure I give it a try. Boy the hell I was wrong. Please if I were you don't waste your money at the theater to see this movie. If you do wanna see this movie see it on TV, but don't waste your money. I should have known not to trust trailers, because most of the time trailers are quite deceptive and are far better than the actual movie. That is a topic for another time though.

Scorch Trials I didn't like it. The plot itself was too lose/weak and kind of confusing/strange if you didn't pay attention to the first one all that much. Second the characters were a problem. For me characters are very important for a movie, even more important than the plot. The characters in this movie even the main ones, were so uninteresting that it almost became a chore to finish the movie. Even in the main climax of the movie with the big bad revealing herself, her explanation as to why she was doing what she was doing made itself feel justified. Essentially making the villain not really villainous. The movie wasn't very good, nuff said.

I would give this movie a 3.5 out of 10, mostly because there were some moments that were good or funny, but they were small and too far in between to make the movie more un-enjoyable than enjoyable.
