He may be a 17-year-old movie connoisseur but when it comes to humor, film critic Jackson Murphy should leave it to the professionals.
Better known as Lights Camera Jackson, you've probably heard of Murphy thanks to his enthusiastic YouTube reviews and cute high school report card rating system. However, it would seem that the one thing he hasn't nailed is the difference between wit and a juvenile quip, and unfortunately for him, he just learned the hard way.
Bumping into Amy Schumer on the red carpet at the Critics' Choice Awards this past weekend, the pair posed for a selfie together, which Jackson went on to share with his followers via Twitter:
'Spent the night with @amyschumer. Certainly not the first guy to write that.'
As you can probably imagine, Schumer was not at all impressed with the ill-conceived joke. Although the 34-year-old comedian isn't usually one to shy away from the topic of sex (her critically acclaimed show on Comedy Central is called Inside Amy Schumer, after all), the Tweet hit a nerve and prompted the below retort:
Boy got schooled!
Jackson quickly back pedaled, but evidently an apology and not a transparent glossing over was called for here.
Fortunately there seems to be no hard feelings, but I bet he won't make a joke like that again without thinking!
At least the whole evening wasn't a 'bummer' for Schumer who went on to win Best Actress in a Comedy for Trainwreck, which she co-wrote with her sister and collaborator Kim Caramele. Check out the trailer below:
