If, like me, you're sick and tired of all your favorite childhood TV shows and films being dredged up from their holy resting places and viciously rebooted until they bare no semblance to their former selves, then I have some good news for you. Bayside Tiger fans prepare to cheer: Saved By The Bell is not getting a modern-day remake.
At least it won't if Tiffani Thiessen has anything to do with it. Thiessen, who played the sparky cheerleader Kelly Kapowski, recently opened up to E! News and claimed that despite the constant pleas to create a reboot or reunion show, 'it’s never going to happen.'
“You’d never be able to do a reboot of that show and do a good job with it. The best thing we did was the Jimmy Fallon reunion last year. That’s as close as it will get!”
Here, here! Don't get me wrong, I love Saved By The Bell, but I dread to think what utter cringeworthy feels a spin off would spawn. No thanks. And to be fair, that Jimmy Fallon reunion was pretty great.
If watching that made you feel like maybe, just maybe, a reunion show or spin-off could be great, try watching some of Saved By The Bell again and just try to visualise them being as good now.
