Since raising over $800,000 on Kickstarter, the folks over at Gun Media have remained hard at work bringing their horrific vision of Friday the 13th to life. Turning the stuff of nightmares to interactive reality, the survival simulator sees you fleeing from the hockey-masked killer Jason Voorhees:
Friday the 13th: The Game is an online, asymmetric multiplayer experience where one player will assume the role of Jason against seven other players assuming the roles of camp counselors trying to survive the night.
Kicking off the new year, the developers have some new info and behind the scenes footage to show us. Firstly, check out this gameplay overview video detailing a new escape mechanic:
It's a neat idea: inserting randomly spawning phones players can then use to call the police in a bid for salvation, providing Jason doesn't arrive at the scene first of course.
But more exciting than that is the news that veteran actor Kane Hodder has donned a mocap suit in order to replicate Jason's dread-inducing stride in the game. Check it out:

The game is projected to come out in the fall of 2016.
