For months now, speculation has been circulating Leonardo DiCaprio like a hungry vulture over whether he would scoop up an Oscar for his role in The Revenant in February 2016.

And now, it appears a dear friend and ex co-star has weighed in on whether Leo should come away an Academy Award winner on the long-awaited day. Yep, Kate Winslet has said that she hopes that 2016 is finally Leo's year, saying:

"I think you can sort of feel it, and I think that everyone wants it for him. It would be amazing."

Yet, she did remain hesitant too, recognizing that her loyalties also lie with her Steve Jobs co-star Michael Fassbender, who is also up for the Best Actor award. She said:

β€œIt’s slightly difficult for me too, because Michael Fassbender has been nominated, and I was his right-hand woman for three months while we were making Steve Jobs and I saw how hard he worked. I think his performance is so extraordinary."

However, she did conclude:

"I think yeah, you can sort of feel the temperature. It's probably going to be Leo's year."
