In order to be able to make accurate and personalized recommendations for its users, Netflix covertly classifies its content according with much more specific 'secret' genres. For example, 'critically-acclaimed movies from the 1970s' or 'feel-good children and family movies from the 1980s'.

There's now a way to actually search according to these cool categories. The way to do it is by installing a chrome extension or firefox add-on called Netflix Super Browse that alters the way Netflix looks by including the 'super browse' option next to the usual 'browse'.

Not every genre is available in this way, however. In order to search under any genre at all, you have to type http://www.netflix.com/browse/genre/### and replace '###' with a specific code. Every category has a specific code.

And there you have it: a nice addition to how you use Netflix.

Happy Browsing!
