I've recently written about DC Films Presents: Dawn of the Justice League having revealed a number of characters who will feature in Warner Bros. Justice League movie. Well, we knew it was coming, but we're that much closer to seeing Jason Momoa's Aquaman on screen!

As you can see above, the video shows the first concept art for the re-imagination of Aquaman, a.k.a. Arthur Curry, starring Jason Momoa as the King of Atlantis.

In the video we hear from DC Executive CCO and big cheese, Geoff Johns, who introduces us to the Aquaman of the 21st century: bigger, badder, and pretty pissed off about his ruined oceans... I would imagine.

"First, we got Aquaman. His name is Arthur Curry, he's the son of a lighthouse keeper and the Queen of Atlantis. He starts to develop these powers. He can breathe under water. He can communicate with sea life. He's very strong.
He grows up not really feeling like he belongs in either world. So he's man trapped between two worlds, but has a responsibility to protect both of them."

Okay, so perhaps I'm reaching a little with my "pissed off" assumption, but they've hired Jason Momoa for the role! Momoa is known for playing fierce warriors, including: Game of Thrones character, Drogo – Khal of the Dothraki, and Stargate Atlantis heavy-hitter, Ronon Dex – the Satedan warrior. Surely this means Aquaman will be badass... right?

If for some reason you haven't treated yourself to the above video, then you won't have heard Momoa discussing his role in the upcoming Justice League and Aquaman movies; don't worry, I've got you covered! Momoa says:

"He's the only one that both: he's human and he's a god. I want to see him struggle with how he has these powers and he doesn't know how to handle them, he hasn't been trained."

So we get to see an Aquaman origin story, followed by some ocean-based antics from the King of Atlantis himself... sounds spectacular!

Jason Momoa is set to appear in Justice League Part One, directed by Zack Snyder on November 17, 2017, followed by his own movie on July 27, 2018. Are you excited?
