Ant-Man and Thor: The Dark World Spoilers ahead.....
If you have not seen Ant-man or Thor: The Dark World stop now, as I would hate to spoil it for you.
Many Marvel fans are aware of an underlying mythos and and shared technologies in the MCU, but here's one easter egg that may have been overlooked, the question is it Pym Tech, or Dark Elf technology?
In the Ant-Man movie, Scott lang is sent by Hope van Dyne and Her father Hank Pym, to a Stark warehouse(which turns out to be an revamped Avengers facility) to retrieve a piece of tech, which they use to implode the entire Pym Technologies building.
In Thor: The Dark World, the Dark elves wield a grenade like weapon, which basically does the same thing, once to Odin's Throne, and then Loki plants one, on the Kursed after he pummels Thor into the ground, again imploding into nothing in a red spark
The question is since this tech was borrowed by Pym, is it shrinking tech, or a Dark elves weapon, modified like the tesseract weapons were in "The Avengers"?
The Dark Elves were dormant for eons and had these weapons available when they returned for the convergence and attacked Asgard.
The similarity between the two weapons are uncanny, producing the exact same results. If this is a form of shrinking tech, then some Asgardians and Dark Elves and the Pym Technologies building are lost in an ever shrinking quantum realm, along with Hopes mother, Janet Van Dyne, AKA "The Wasp".
If the Dark Elves grenades were studied and converted into weapons by S.H.I.E.L.D., then the Dark Elves are clearly the originators of the technology.
The real question is that an implosion or shrinking? Perhaps we will find out as more of the Marvel Cinematic Universe unfolds.
