As many of us are forsaking our true love, pizza, for more pure and wholesome food sources this January, it can be hard to find celebrity inspiration among the realms of aggressive fad diets and superficial, vanity driven goals.

Melissa McCarthy - To Be a Good Example for Her Children
Quote: Although McCarthy has been private about her inspirational weight loss, a friend close to the comic actress told Shape magazine that:
"Melissa knows that fans love her big and beautiful, and she’s not obsessed with dieting; she’s looking for a happy medium. She realized she wasn’t being as healthy as she could be. She wants to set a good example for her kids and wants to be around to become a grandmother too."
And, it's clear to see the results that happy medium has yielded over the past few years. Check out McCarthy's red carpet transformation HERE.

"I stopped drinking and I just kind of put the weight off… I was having a lot of vodka with sausage… delicious but bad for you. I was getting into too much trouble with the drinking, so I just kind of stopped."
Depressingly, alcohol is one of the most fattening substances out there with 7.1 calories per gram so it totally makes sense that altering your bad boozing habits can change your waist line.

"It can save your life, it’s a last chance thing. It’s a tool, it’s not an answer. You can’t just get surgery and go ‘I’m done.' You have to change the way you eat, you have to exercise."
Chris Pratt - Learned His Lesson from Past Unhealthy Weight Loss
Quote: Chris Pratt lost a lot of weight for movie roles, but he also learned from the mistakes he made in the past how to make meaningful changes to his life without punishing himself or hurting his body, he explained:
"I was like, 'I'm going to cut weight, put on plastics, run and I'm not going to eat,' that's what I did, but I didn't realize how that affects your body long-term, so that the minute you stop doing that you balloon your weight back up. I was doing 500 push-ups a day, working out at the gym, running five miles a day, but with no food, and I tore my body apart. I felt terrible afterwards, had to get shoulder surgery, and I wore myself down doing that because I didn't have the proper coaching."
After this terrible weight loss experience, Pratt was determined to do a healthier job for Guardians of the Galaxy and his next regime was much, much more health conscious, the actor explained:
"I actually lost weight by eating more food, but eating the right food, eating healthy foods and so when I was done with the movie my body hadn't been in starvation mode. It wasn't like I was triggered to just gorge myself and get really fat again."
Jennifer Hudson - To Safeguard Her Health For the Future
