I still cannot understand how this only has an 14% on Rotten Tomatoes ... I am going to guess that most people that saw this were upset with the ending. I hate to break it to you but it's the story of the 47 Ronin, and anyone that understands or knows a little about asian culture might want to think about how most of these stories end. There isn't going to be some happy ending with lovers walking into the sunset together, so if you're thinking this is some love story with no tragedy, then you might want to completely pass this by.
The first ten minutes worried me with this because it does start out a little cheesy when telling the back story of the Ronin. The movie does have a better development the deeper into the story we get. I believe Keanu Reeves had a perfect role in this since he did little talking and mainly action. The CGI was very well put together for this film and if I would take anything aside from the story away, it would be the cinematography and special effects. The "witch" was such an interesting character, and without her it would have been dull. It was a good story and an inevitable outcome. It's not worth watching in 3D, so skip that and save your money for just a regular viewing. I definitely think it's better than the "tomatometer" is letting on, sorry, no offense RT.
