The world-renowned video game series Dark Souls is getting its very own comic book series! According to the latest reports from Titan Comics, the Dark Souls Universe is set to make the move from console to print as soon as April this year.
The Dark Souls comic book series will be written by George Mann, the writer responsible for Titan's Doctor Who series. Bringing Mann's vision to life will be none other than Alan Quah, the man behind the pencil for the Godzilla 'Awakening' series.
"Dark Souls has a rich, original universe that's just begging to be explored in comics, and I'm honored to have the opportunity to delve in and tell some new stories within it. It's a real thrill to be able to contribute to the mythology of the Hollows and their world." - George Mann
The comic book series will be venturing much deeper into the Dark Souls universe than the games ever did. The series will not be just another adaptation of a game narrative - Mann wants to go beyond that and explore the darkest fathoms of the Hollows.
Dark Souls issue #1 will release with no less than five differently rendered covers. Artists Joshua Cassara and Marco Turini will be contributing a cover apiece, and another cover will be a very cool-looking blank sketch. The final two will pay homage to the original platform, and will be designed specifically to look like the game covers.
The Dark Souls Universe has almost limitless potential. A dark world saturated with evil. Whichever direction Mann decides to take, you can rest assured that we are in for one hell of a ride. The series will launch alongside Dark Souls 3, on April 12th.
