Is a blockbuster really a blockbuster if it isn’t accompanied by an extensive marketing campaign and various action figures? From The Avengers to Batman vs Superman and Star Wars, toy manufacturing giants have been creating plastic figurines to be sucked on by babies and carefully preserved by older fans for decades.

Which is why it comes as no surprise that DC Collectibles has announced the release of six Suicide Squad character statues ahead of the film’s highly-anticipated August release. USA Today revealed the lineup will include:

Far from your basic action figures, the statues will be 12 inches in height, intricately detailed to resemble the actors, and will cost around $150 each. The statues of Deadshot, Killer Croc, Harley Quinn, and The Joker will be released in July, though fans of Katana and Captain Boomerang will have to hold out until August when the two are released closer to the film.

With the recent controversy surrounding the obvious exclusion of Daisy Ridley's Rey from Star Wars: The Force Awakens merchandise (even sparking a movement) and similar incidences with Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow from The Avengers merchandise, it is refreshing to not only see the inclusion of female Squad members, but also the obvious hype around Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn.

With so much spotlight placed on Robbie’s portrayal of the fan-favorite anti-hero, it will be interesting to see which statues sell the most, though it likely will not be surprising given the emphasis on both Harley Quinn and The Joker in the film's marketing.

In the meantime, feast your eyes on the Suicide Squad trailer for the 1000th time.
