Although there are many songs from high-profile films that were never nominated for Best Song Academy Awards: "New York, New York" from the film of the same name; Elvis' "I Can't Help Falling in Love With You" from Blue Hawaii; "Pure Imagination" from Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory; or any of the great songs from Saturday Night Fever, those have all been covered. This list is devoted to the classic film era and focused on the obscure and offbeat...and is thoroughly, totally, and absolutely subjective. Songs are not listed in order of preference.
