Obligatory spoiler warning... if you proceed you will inevitably find spoilers for 'The Flash' Season 2.
Robbie Amell, the younger cousin of Arrow star Stephen Amell, was a frequent flier on The Flash Season 1, appearing as occasional superhero and underused heavy-hitter for team-Flash Firestorm, a.k.a. Ronnie Raymond.
The news recently dropped that the younger Amell will be returning to The Flash as a villain from Earth-2, Deathstorm. Moreover, it has also been revealed that Deathstorm will be accompanied by none other than the eagerly anticipated Killer Frost! Have a look at their first appearance!
As if this weren't enough to rial us up for the rest of Season 2, Robbie Amell recently revealed something seriously juicy at this weekend's New Jersey 'Heroes and Villains Fan Fest.'
"In episode 13, so in a couple weeks, you'll see me as Deathstorm, and Caitlin as Killer Frost."
There's no beating around the bush with Amell, who jumped straight to the point: we're getting Deathstorm and Killer Frost. It's a geek day in paradise for us all! But Amell continued by saying:
"So I get to come back, and I kill a series regular. So there's that, I'm probably going to get in trouble for saying that."
That's right, Amell Jr. claims that he'll return and kill a series regular! Oh, there's so much speculation to be done on this one!
Now, there's always the possibility that Amell could kill off an Earth-2 doppelgänger rather than a protagonist, in which case there won't be any real impact beyond a little shock value.
But who could Deathstorm kill?
It could be anyone frankly, but if you check the trailer above you'll see what looks like an adventure to Earth-2. At approximately 54 seconds in you'll see Cisco saying, "Good luck fixing the universe," as Barry and possibly Wells leave the room. We know that Barry will live, but does this mean that Tom Cavanagh's character, Harrison Wells, will be the victim?
On the other hand, I find it extremely unlikely that the show's creators would reintroduce Ronnie without having some drama with his former fiancé, Caitlin. So that's two possibilities right there.
Moreover, if you look at around 25-27 seconds into the video you'll see a clear shot of Deathstorm with Killer Frost, followed by what looks like Cisco pointing a gun at them. I shudder at the thought... but could Cisco be killed by the evil doppelgänger's of his closest friends?
Of course, this is all just speculation. We could lose anyone or no one. But who you think will be left standing when the dust settles?
