Recently a rumor has been circulating that Lynda Carter could be set in cameo in the upcoming Wonder Woman (2017) movie, starring Gal Gadot as the Amazonian warrior.
Surely we've all heard of the legend that is Lynda Carter? I'll break it down for you. Lynda Carter is a model, singer, songwriter and actress who launched her acting career through her leading role in the Wonder Woman television series.
Wonder Woman ran from 1975-1979, for just three seasons, assuring Lynda Carter's role as a cultural icon. Even today Carter is commonly associated with her Wonder Woman character, Diana Prince.
Many of Lynda Carter's fans were naturally hoping to see her make a cameo appearance in DC's 2017 Wonder Woman movie, but unfortunately it has been revealed that the veteran will be absent when Gal Gadot tackles the role.
When Washington Post contacted Carter's representation, their only reply was:
“She wishes its success.”
This comes as quite a surprise, considering in April of last year Carter confessed she would appreciate being involved in the upcoming movie (as reported by EW):
“I would love to be involved in a creative position on it. I know so much about what people want from it, I think, that just being as a consultant on a movie. I think it needs a woman.”
Unfortunately, she either wasn't asked or she changed her mind. Either way, we definitely won't be seeing Lynda Carter involved in the latest incarnation of Wonder Woman. Too bad, folks.
Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot will appear in Batman V Superman, which is scheduled to premier March 25, 2016. Directed by Zack Snyder, BvS is shaping up to be a hell of a movie. Check out the trailer!
