Valve really isn't know to keep a good track record when it comes with 3rd part releases to their popular series. If the elusive and mere rumor mill at this point - that be Half-Life 3, if you didn't follow, is anything to go by. Let me be frank with you for a moment, I doubt we're ever gonna see it. Don't you agree?
The third installment in the much beloved and still highly enjoyed online and with mods, which is a great thing about PC gaming, was semi announced by a seemingly credible source to have an early 2016 Release window, but there's been no official news from Valve the big fat cat in a suit with a cigar burning in his mouth, oh and they're responsible for Steam which is a great place for PC gamers to congregate and play games plus it has a great store! Yet according to another source it may not see the light of day till the fourth quarter of this year, if at all.
Next month it'll be six years since the last installment in the Left 4 Dead series, Left 4 Dead 2. The zombie themed first-person shooter series produced it's two main games just a year apart, but now six years down the line there's still little sign that we're going to be getting a Left 4 Dead 3. Dammit Gaben, why do you do these things to us?
How Far We've Come...
In fact the last addition to the franchise was 2012's Cold Stream DLC, the third DLC available for Left 4 Dead 2. There was a new game released last year... for arcades in Japan, and Chet Faliszek (L4D Valve writer) did confirm that he'd like to make a third installment sometime down the road... three years ago:
Faliszek: "You know, some time down the road. Like anything, I would say that to all of our games. So that's not a promise of when or where... I really love working on that series. It's one of my favorite series. It's just so much fun with the characters and the world. I love zombies and I love horror. So, yeah."
Let me know what you think down in the comments below. But I am confused at this point and believe you me, I am down for all things Zombies , especially when it involves me getting to slaughter them with impunity, the weapons and the sheer sense of dread when you go into a dark place that starts out quiet and then boom they are on in a fleeting heart beat and their moans and groans and they rip and tear at your flesh, hungry for bones!
