I love Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I've been a Turtles fan ever since I was young. Now obviously, I didn't grow up with the live-action movies, or during that weird rock and roll phase... but I had my own generation of TMNT to enjoy. From the games, to the 2003 show, to the less-than-perfect attempt at an animated movie, the Turtles were a huge part of my childhood!

So it's great to see that not only are the Turtles still around, they're just as strong as ever! Sure, the live-action movie was met with mixed reviews, but even if you didn't like it, there's still an awesome animated show going on!

Not only is there a show, but the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have been represented in toys and comics as well—they even had a pretty cool crossover with the Dark Knight himself!

Why have one Robin when you can have FOUR Turtles?
Why have one Robin when you can have FOUR Turtles?

But one way that TMNT hasn't been well represented these days is through video games. There's been recent games, but most of them have been boring, unimpressive graphics-wise, or a glitchy mess...

Luckily, the world is about to get the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game it so deserves, all thanks to a very awesome developer by the name of PlatinumGames!

You might remember PlatinumGames as the developer of such fun and good-looking games like The Legend of Korra, Star Fox Zero, and Bayonetta. Well with their next project, they're taking us on a shell-shocking adventure!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan is an upcoming game published by Activision. It features a story revolving around the Turtles protecting their NYC home from a variety of dangerous villains including Armaggon, Rocksteady and Bebop, and of course, The Shredder!

I reported on the game a while back, when it was first rumored that it would potentially be M-rated. Since then, the game has apparently dropped down to a T-rating, if the rumors of it being mature were ever true at all. But if you were looking forward to an M-rated TMNT adventure, don't let its ratings drop faze you! The game still looks incredible.

Check out the trailer below:

First off, can I say how in love I am with the art style of this game? PlatinumGames is known for making some pretty good looking games, but they've really outdone themselves this time!

Most of their games have a certain arcade aesthetic to them, and Mutants in Manhattan is no different! Not only do the graphics look beautiful, but the combat gameplay looks seamless, and even the voice-acting sounds great!

I would have loved to see an M-rated TMNT game based on the original IDW comics, but honestly, I think this might be better. Mutants in Manhattan looks like it features just enough to please EVERY generation of TMNT fans!

It's got genuine TMNT-style combat, the corny jokes the Turtles are so well known for, and an amazing art style that draws influence from both the recent TMNT installment and the comics of old!

Whether you're a fan of the comics, the old movies, or you're a newer TMNT fan, I think you'll find that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan is the game for you!

Of course, it's still too early to confirm that. So I guess we'll just have to wait and see if Mutants in Manhattan truly is an epic TMNT game when it comes out in Summer 2016!
