There are a bunch of interesting theories about American Horror Story. There's the Dante's Inferno theory — and the theory that AHS is heading to space — but these are just theories.

However, there are many concrete examples of American Horror Story inter-season crossovers. Here they are. All of 'em.

1. People: Dr. Montgomery

Seasons Connected: 1 - 5

The Countess (Lady Gaga) heads to Dr. Montgomery's Murder House for a basement abortion in Season 5, Hotel. Of course, Madison Montgomery repeats the surname in Season 3, Coven — but that 'connection' would be a theory, now, wouldn't it?

2. Pepper

Seasons Connected: 2 - 4

Sweet, innocent Pepper (Naomi Grossman) appears in Briarcliff Asylum for American Horror Story Season 2... but it's only in Season 3, Freak Show, that we find out the full story of how she got there! Still, there's always room for more Pepper — or, to use her full name, Pepper Pepper Bo Bepper Banana Fana Fo Fepper Me Mi Mo Mepper... Pepper!

3. Hans Gruper

Seasons Connected: 2 - 4

The villainous Hans Gruper worked for the Nazis before his tenure at Briarcliff Asylum (Season 2); it's in this earlier capacity that he appears in Season 4, Freak Show. Gruper was the one who performed Elsa's unwanted amputation. Fun fact: in Elsa's Freak Show flashback, the young Gruper is played by John Cromwell, the real life son of James Cromwell, who plays Dr. Gruper (as Arthur Arden) in Asylum.

4. Jack Colquitt

Seasons Connected: 1 - 4

In Season 1, Murder House, Detective Jack Colquitt (played by Geoffrey Rivas) interviewed Ben Harmon about Sally's disappearance. Years earlier, a Det. Jack Colquitt (played by P.J. Marshall) enforces a curfew in Jupiter, Florida — his first dealings with Elsa Mars's Freak Show. How are these two identically named cops connected? Nobody knows, but it's a canonical AHS fact that they share a name and profession.

5. Marcy

Seasons Connected: 1 - 5

Marcy, the Harmons' realtor in Season 1, Murder House, is the one who shows Will Drake (Cheyenne Jackson) around the Hotel in Season 5. Marcy's second appearance does not go terribly well...

6. Queenie

Seasons Connected: 3 - 5

Human Voodoo doll, Queenie, traverses Season 3, Coven, and Season 5, Hotel, where she has a fight with vampire movie star Ramona Royale. See here for more on how that turned out for her!

7. Billie Dean Howard

Howard meets Aileen Wuornos (Lily Rabe)
Howard meets Aileen Wuornos (Lily Rabe)

Seasons Connected: 1 - 5

Psychic Billie Dean Howard (Sarah Paulson) conducts a seance in the Murder House and also appears in the last episode of American Horror Story: Hotel, where she meets some of the Cortez's most interesting guests...

8. Locations: LA

Seasons Connected: 1, 3, 4, and 5

Coven's Madison Montgomery is forced to leave LA when she kills a Hollywood director, but Freak Show's Elsa Mars heads to LA for the fame and fortune she's always wanted. Of course, Season 5 is very LA-centered; LA is where the Hotel Cortez is located — based in part on LA's real life Cecil Hotel.

9. Florida

Seasons Connected: 1 - 4

Jupiter, Florida is where our Freak Show resides. Murder House's Vivien Harmon also briefly mentions she has some family in Florida. It's not much, but it's still a confirmed link.

10. Massachusetts

Seasons Connected: 1, 2, 3, and 4

Massachusetts: popular with AHS as well as the Bee Gees. The Harmons move to the Murder House from Boston, and Briarcliff was established in Mass., 1908. Coven shows us flashes of the Salem witch trials and we see Elsa Mars appearing in the 1936 Boston circus in Freak Show (Mass. is also where Pepper is sent to live with her mean sister).
