Surely we all know about John Wesley Shipp. Formerly star of the short-lived 1990s Flash series, Shipp now plays the role of Henry Allen on the hit CW Flash reboot. Ahh... like father like son.

As if we don't have enough competition between iterations of The Flash, Vulture has edited together footage from the Flash (2014) television series and its parent program from the '90s. That's right, it's Flash vs. Flash, Grant Gustin vs. John Wesley Shipp, father vs. son, dark vs. light! Okay, maybe a step too far... remind yourself of the 1990s series below.

Vulture's fantastic edit shows Shipp's Barry Allen coming into Grant Gustin's territory and the two throw down speedster-style! It's cheesy, but well made and it's catnip for any speedster-loving DC geek. The video incorporates elements of both character styles and it comes off looking pretty damn good. Have a look!

What did you think? Do you agree with the outcome? Would Grant Gustin really be put down by the veteran?

Shipp is a science fiction veteran from a tougher age, but Gustin portrays a superhero of the modern world. Who's your money on: experience or youth?

We've seen Grant Gustin's Flash face-off against speedsters before, but this time he's against nostalgia itself. Heartbreaking... it's worse than the whole Reverse Flash, "You're like my son," moment...

Noooo

Do you agree with the outcome? Would the veteran Flash really come out on top?

Are you amped for more Flash, if so then you're in luck! The Flash television series is still going strong and Ezra Miller's cinematic adaption is on the way! The Flash, starring Ezra Miller, is due to premiere March 23, 2018.
