It's no secret that actor, author, master fanboy, and lover of all things geeky, Kevin Smith, is a huge Star Wars fan. So much so that over a year before the release of J.J. Abrams's Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the filmmaker was invited to the set to check things out, but as it turns out he might have been doing some extra voice work on set.

The film got Smith's stamp of approval long before the rest of the world was able to partake in the awesomeness that is The Force Awakens. Now that we have seen it for ourselves, it's safe to say that we wholeheartedly agree.

In addition to visiting the set early, Kevin Smith also got to live out his dream of having a small role in the Star Wars universe. The official Star Wars website recently released a list naming the voice actors behind the alien scavengers, Resistance pilots, droids, and First Order Stormtroopers.

Alongside a number of alumni from The Clone Wars animated series, Kevin Smith had a quick cameo as the voice of a Stormtrooper.

We might have missed Smith's line the first (second, third, and fourth) time around, but now we'll all be able to keep our ears open for his familiar voice.
