At the end of February, VICE is set to launch its own 24-hour cable channel, VICELAND, which will explore areas of curiosity and confusion to help us all better 'understand the world we live in.' The station will brim with round-the-clock treats created in collaboration with the brand's 'extended family,' and awesomely, Ellen Page is one such family member.

In a new docu-series called Gaycation (major kudos for the name, btw), the X-Men star has teamed up with her best bud Ian Daniel and will journey across several countries to explore what it means to identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender or Queer in different cultures.

"If you think you live in a part of the world where there aren't gay people, you're wrong."

From attending the first gay pride event in Jamaica, to conducting an interview with a homophobic Brazilian cop known for killing homosexuals, Page and Daniel explore sexuality and identity to 'join the celebration, document the struggles, feel the love and the hate, and bring home every human story' they unearth along the way.

While their project discovers many progressive and accepting communities, it equally documents the relentless threat and danger in others. Page can be heard saying in the trailer,

“Being gay is not a choice. The amount of people that struggle so much because of the shame they feel or the fear of being oppressed or hurt or killed. Why would someone make that choice? Why would someone make that choice?“

Gaycation will air on VICELAND February 29th. Check out the trailer below:
