If you've seen any of the recent seasons of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, you're probably familiar with Yolanda Foster's ongoing battle with Lyme disease—and how the other housewives treat her after finding out about the illness.
Many of them, especially Lisa Vanderpump, grow increasingly suspicious if Yolanda is actually telling the truth about the debilitating affliction.
These suspicions only increased in October of last year when Yolanda revealed that her children, Bella and Anwar Hadid, have also been diagnosed with the same illness that has caused her so much torment.
It's been a long, torturous journey for the Hadid family, but that doesn't mean the fellow housewives are through slinging rumors about them.
Lisa Vanderpump claimed that Bella and Anwar Hadid had never had Lyme Disease
Worst of all, she alleged that she heard this from Yolanda's ex-husband, Mohamed Hadid, who is also the father of Anwar, Bella, and eldest daughter Gigi.
"[Mohamed] just said no, that she's the only one that has it. He said he doesn't think that they had it."
Lisa said this almost immediately after Yolanda left a barbecue for all the housewives hosted by Kyle Richards.
Their father fired back at her claims
Clearly, he's standing by his kids and his ex-wife. By his account, it seems that Lisa made a mountain out of a molehill for the sake of gossip, which certainly wouldn't be a first on this how.
Yolanda also struck out against her friend's allegations
She took to her blog on Bravo TV to set the record straight:
“Still, I am the subject of conversation amongst ‘friends.’ Looks like I got out of dodge right on time at that barbecue. I have nothing to prove and know that my journey is public due to the job I've chosen as a Housewife, but I can't accept something so delicate as my children's health being talked about in such a way.”
And she made sure to share the touching work that Bella and Gigi have put in to support her (while also struggling in silence).
She added the caption:
❤2015-Watching my brave babies suffer in silence in order to support me in my journey has struck the deepest core of hopelessness inside of me, it is because of them that I continue to fight relentlessly....... I will not allow them to live a life of pain and suffering……. I will prevail and walk to the end of the earth to find a cure for them and millions of others debilitated by this invisible disease!!!! We all deserve to live a healthy life, don't you think? #LymeDiseaseAwareness #FightingTheInvisible #RealLifeProblems #SoulPower
It's strange to me that there's so much controversy over whether or not Yolanda and the Hadid kids are telling the truth about having Lyme disease. After all, it's a fairly common illness that has millions of people have been diagnosed with over the years. It's also never far from the public eye, considering so many celebrities have revealed they've struggled with the illness.
This includes Avril Lavigne, Parker Posey, Jamie Lynn Sigler, Kathleen Hanna, Alec Baldwin, Ashley Olsen, and Ben Stiller among others. You'd think that some of the housewives would have taken notice to at least one of these public figures and had some sympathy for Yolanda and her kids, but that's simply not the case.
