The new Amityville movie -- which you may see titled as either Amityville: The Awakening or Amityville: The Re-Awakening, the second incarnation of the title -- as the name has been changed -- has got a solid release date: April 1, 2016.

Check out the seriously creepy trailer from talented director Franck Khalfoun, who directed the excellent P2 and Maniac.

Oscar nominee Jennifer Jason Leigh and Scream beauty Bella Thorne star in Amityville: The Awakening, which takes an interesting angle in its approach to a well-loved franchise:

Belle, her little sister, and her comatose twin brother move into a new house with their single mother Joan in order to save money to help pay for her brother’s expensive healthcare. But when strange phenomena begin to occur in the house including the miraculous recovery of her brother, Belle begins to suspect her Mother isn’t telling her everything and soon realizes they just moved into the infamous Amityville house.

'Amityville: The Awakening' hits theaters everywhere April 1, 2016.
