Even your heroes can feel down in the dumps, as they are only mere humans like you and I.
In this adorable commercial for Coca-Cola, one little boy's small act of kindness transforms Pittburg Steelers star Mean Joe Greene's day when he shares his Coke with the down-and-out footballer.
Some of us might not have been alive in 1979 when the commercial was first released, but if you're in the mood to have an adorable little kid pull at your heart-strings, then make sure to check out this video below:
Awwwwwwwww! What a cutie!
It's been nearly 40 years since this little 9-year-old helped out his football pal, but now this duo is coming together to release a new video for the Super Bowl's Greatest Commercials 2016 special on CBS.
Tommy Okon, who is not so little anymore, and the NFL legend met up at Apogee Stadium in Denton, Texas to catch up and reminisce about this famous moment. Greene also reveals that he drank 18 entire bottles of Coke to get the shot right.
“I didn’t know any better. I chugged the doggone thing over and over and over."
I'm assuming no one on set told the big man about a little thing called "the spit bucket." The most touching part about the interview? Greene becomes rather emotional when he describes how the commercial still has a special place in his heart even this many decades later. While wiping tears from his eyes, Greene says:
“Still special, after all these years.”
It seems as if Greene isn't as big and mean as he might look. He's just a kind and sweet softie on the inside. Everyone just needs to be told every so often that they're the "best ever."
Super Bowl’s Greatest Commercials 2016 is set to air on CBS next Tuesday, February 2, 2016.
