Still in 1975, the team land in Norway to infiltrate a warhead auction for terrorists in hopes that Savage will be there as a buyer. Rip stays behind on the ship When they all refuse to take orders from him. When Snart, Stein, Sara and Rory arrive they realize that he is the seller. Among the buyers is Damien Darhk who confronts them after being outbid. Savage becomes aware of their presence and orders them to be killed. A fight breaks out between the team and the terrorists. Before Kendra and Carter can fight Vandal, he arms a nuke and they only have a minute to stop it. Ray shrinks and tries to disarm it, but triggers a fail safe, giving them only thirty seconds. Firestorm flies the nuke out to an abandoned island and absorbs the nuclear blast. The team escapes, but not before a piece of Ray's suit is left behind. Angry at their recklessness, Rip points out what happens and how the technology of Ray's suit will create super weapons that lead to the destruction of Central City in 2016. The team splits up, with Professor Stein, Jax, and Sara retrieving the missing piece of Ray's suit, while Ray, Snart, and Rory go in search of the dagger that kills Kendra and Carter in their first life. The dagger turns out to be in the home of Savage, who imprisons the three of them and forces them to call the rest of the team. Stein,Sara and Jax find Stein's younger self and are able to obtain the particle tracker to find Ray's tech. They find Vandal's facility where Sara easily dispatches his men and retrieves the tech. The rest of the team arrive just in time to save Ray, Snart and Rory from Vandal. Kendra and Carter go after Savage, while the rest take on Savage's men. During the fight, Savage kills Carter with the dagger, revealing that only Kendra can wield it to kill him. Kendra is injured and the team is forced to retreat and plan a new strategy. They all decide to follow Rip to avenge Carter and take down Savage.
Even more epic than the first episode. They might not all get along, but they sure do know how to kick some was together. Check out these notable scenes.
Damien Darhk: So he has encountered Vandal before. I wondered if the course of events that transpired this episode will have some sort of effect on his future self. He dipped before he got caught in the crossfire with our Legends and Vandal.
Marty Stein: So this is Martin when he was younger. Sure he was funny and goofy, but he was a total douche too. Even he wanted to beat himself up.
Legends- One episode in and the team has fallen apart. After learning the real reason why Rip recruited them, everyone pretty much went their own way. They kind of winged it the whole time and well, stuff went sideways. Mistake after mistake, had our heroes trying to fix the timeline before it had permanent changes. That's what you get for disrespecting the Time Master. Well, former time master. By the end though, they went into war together and made it out together. Almost everyone that is.
Damien Darhk and Legends- We are really hoping that this isn't just a simple cameo. It probably is since he is the big bad on Arrow, but we were all waiting for him to take part in the brawl this episode. Seeing Rory stand up to him was amazing. The only one who has actually encountered Damien is Ray and I'm sure he's glad he didn't have to relive being held captive by the guy, at least the future version of Damien.
Ray, Snart and Rory- The boy scout and the thieves. Despite being one of the smartest minds we've seen on these shows, Ray definitely had a few derpy moments. Snart and Rory proved their intelligence in their own way and it was actually Ray who got them caught. After beating each others faces in and being trapped, Snart and Ray seemed to have found something in common. Rory hates Ray though. Actually, he hates everybody.
Sara, Stein and Jax- It's only endless laughter with this trio. The whole Marty ordeal was super funny. Stein really is a smart man. Sara is sexy. He just didn't want to admit it to her. Them seeing how Stein was is sure to them something to hold against him for some future laughs for sure.
Stein and Jax- After their usual arguing we get a pretty touching moment between them when Stein begins to criticize himself. Stein has a realization that he hasn't changed and is still very ignorant, blaming himself for the whole situation at the warhead auction. Jax reminded him that he is smart, kind and selfless. "One of the greatest moments in my life was meeting Clarissa. Another was meeting you." Bro fist.
Stein and Marty- Stein arguing with himself was amazing. He realized how much of a punk he was back then and nearly knocked him on his ass. Too bad Sara beat him to it, with her new take on a 'bong hit'. I wonder if Marty had some sort of idea he was talking to his future self. We may never know.
Stein and Ray- So apparently, Stein keeps Ray in his pocket as a personal keychain. That definitely came in handy. Love how these two geek out together. To the team they seem to be speaking a different language, but it's great. Ray showed concern for Stein and the ordeal with his wife. Fellow Ivy Towners need to look out for one another.
Stein and Rip- That was a pretty nice gesture for Rip to make sure Stein's marriage was saved. He risked another muck up in the timeline just to make sure someone on his team didn't lose something to important to them.
Stein and Rory- Rory might actually like Professor Stein. He claims that they are friends at least. He loved it when Stein went all bad ass to get them into the warhead auction. Their banter always makes us crack a smile.
Carter and Kendra- She continued to keep her distance from him and tried to convince herself that they didn't need to end up together. She realized later that no matter they are destined, but it was too late. Yes, it was sad to see him go, but we know he will pop up again eventually.
Carter, Kendra and Vandal- Their love triangle just got even weirder and ended in tragedy tonight. In would like to feel sorry for Vandal, but the dude is straight crazy and is homicidal. Sure he said he loved Kendra, just before he shanked her. That's messed up.
Rip and Kendra- Rip calmed Kendra down after she went hysterical over Carter's death. He really does care about them all and we saw it in this scene.
Marty- Back to the Future. The premise of this show. Perfect.
Elon Musk- The name Stein used to introduce himself to his younger self. A very well known inventor, engineer, and business magnet. He has to ties to many businesses and products. He is the CEO of Tesla Motors and co-founder of PayPal to name a few.
Ivy Town- Wish they would have stuck to the comics and had it based in Connecticut, but this version is in Philadelphia. This is Stein and Ray's old stomping grounds.
What's to Come/Theories:
Looks like the team is off to find Vandal and take him out in a different timeline after their attempt in 1975 wasn't so successful. With Kendra in critical condition, we see in the preview for next week's 'Blood Ties', a tiny Ray Palmer going in to fix what ever is going on with her. A nod to the comics where he is seen shrinking into Superman's bloodstream and manually rearranging his molecules to create Kryptonite. It also looks like they will be going back even further in time and meeting another no so good organization. What's that green emerald Snart's staring at. It's a little hard to tell, but at a first glance one would guess Kryptonite, but it could also have something to do with the Green Lanterns. We will have to see. Will our Legends finally be able to redeem themselves and make some progress, or will they make another mess they will have to clean up? What ever it is we are stoked to be coming along for the ride!
With more action, hilarity and a story that continues to get more interesting, Legends of Tomorrow has become the show to not miss every Thursday. It's a party every week! Two episodes in and we've lost one of our Legends, but it finally looks like the rest of the team is motivated to catch Vandal. For Carter. What did you guys think of "Pilot Part II"? Leave it in the comments below, we'd love to read them!
