It was announced back in November that Netflix and Marvel were planning on turning iconic comic book hero Iron Fist into an original series. Rumors have been buzzing that the idea had been scrapped, and not much is known about the show yet. But actor Mike Colter — known for playing Luke Cage in Jessica Jones — recently assured us that Iron Fist is still happening.
“The actor has been cast, but he’s in a basement somewhere. When the time is right, they’ll let him up and tell him where he is.”
Iron Fist locked up in a basement? Looks like he'll have to punch his way out of there and onto our screens!
Unfortunately for us, Mike didn't give all the deets away — we still don't know who has been cast as Iron Fist. But instead of being upset over this, let's see it as a golden opportunity to do a fan cast! Without further ado, here are my top picks of actors I'd like to see in the role.
This hunky Taiwanese born Canadian actor would be perfect in the role of Iron Fist, and he did an excellent job portraying Magnus Bane in The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.
Daniel Henney has already played a mutant in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, so he could definitely continue working with Marvel in Iron Fist.
You may know him as Felix from One Tree Hill, but Michael Copon would be a wonderful addition to the MCU.
This French-Korean actor has appeared in multiple TV dramas in South Korea, and I think he would be an excellent casting choice for Iron Fist.
Harry Shum Jr.
You probably know Harry best from his role as Mike Chang on Glee, but there's no doubt in my mind that he could be an excellent superhero.
