There is a new Justice League cartoon on the way, airing on The Cartoon Network called Justice League: Action. Fan favorite voice actors Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill will be reprising their iconic roles as Batman and The Joker respectively.
Fans will recall both voice actors fondly from Batman: The Animated Series, Justice League, Justice League Unlimited, as well as the Arkham series of video games. Some even put Hamil up ahead of Heath Ledger as the number one actor portrayal of the Joker across any form of media. While that can be debated, very few will debate that Hamill's portrayal is anything but fantastic. Fans of The Flash TV series can recognize Hamill's "Joker Voice" even in his portrayal as The Trickster on that show.
The new show will air in 11 minute episodes and will feature Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman as the iconic trinity of the Justice League. James Woods has also been signed to portray Lex Luthor.
The press release for the new show states...
"Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman lead the DC Comics Super Heroes against their most infamous foes in adventures packed with relentless thrills, fun and action. No need to wait for the good stuff to start, each eleven-minute episode jumps in with lightning-paced action and heroics. Whether defending the Earth, facing invaders from space, or battling the bizarre forces of magic, the always-rotating team of Justice League heroes, are up to any challenge."
No release date has been set, but with the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, I doubt we will have to wait long as The Cartoon Network and DC look to capitalize on the presumed success of that movie.
