Actress Gal Gadot didn't know what to expect when she was called in to audition for Warner Bros. for her role in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Including which role she was actually auditioning for, as she was never told.
Her initial thoughts were that she was going the role of Catwoman, the acrobatic jewel thief. As opposed to the role of the Amazonian warrior Diana Prince.
She revealed this in the latest issue of Empire:
"I mean, I could have guessed. I thought it was going to be Selina [Kyle aka Catwoman], you know?"
It wasn't until she was brought on to test with Ben Affleck who will play Batman/Bruce Wayne, what role she was actually going after. Suffice it to say, she was very excited.
"I was very excited, anytime I had general meetings in LA, I always said that my dream role was to do an empowered, independent woman who doesn't rely on men."
Well you are playing Wonder Woman, who grew up on an island surrounded by only women. So it doesn't get much further than that.
