If you grew up, or remember the 90's, then you probably watched several classic cartoons (some of which were likely reruns at that point) that were a part of the Hanna-Barbara family. Well, this spring, you're going to want to race out and snag a new line of comic books being distributed by DC Comics. These comics will be based on some of the most popular classic cartoons, but will cast a new light on them. Yet, don't fret if you're a purist, because even though the concepts are a re-imagining, the heart and soul of the cartoon is still intact. Dan DiDio, DC Entertainment Co-Publisher had this to say about what was coming for DC Comics:

I can't think of anyone that doesn't look back at these characters with anything but fond memories. With this initial lineup of titles and talent, we're excited for fans to experience the re-imagining of these Saturday classics with a more modern and contemporary look and feel."

So what does DC have up their sleeves for the comic book treatment? Let's take a look -

Scooby Apocalypse

This time, the horrors are real in this apocalyptic near-future badland!

"The meddling kids" will be designed by the incredible Jim Lee, and given an origin story by Jim Leen and Keith Giffen (Justice League 3001). Howard Porter (Superman) is set to provide his own unique twist on the group of young-adults as they are at the center of an experiment gone wrong. The crew will have to face their fears and bring their mystery solving skills as they try to find a cure for a world infected by a nanite virus that mutates them into creatures fueled by fear and the baser instincts.

Future Quest

An impossible adventure awaits as these teams combine to face a larger story!

Bringing together the classic team of Jonny Quest and combining them with some of the most iconic action/adventure heroes in Hanna-Barbara's lineup is bound to create a unique dynamic. Future Quest is the brain child of writer Jeff Parker (Aquaman, Justice League United & Batman '66) and Evan "Doc" Shaner (Justice League Darkseid War: Green Lantern). Future Quest will see Jonny Quest cross paths with Space Ghost, Birdman, Mightor, The Herculoids, The Impossibles and more.

Wacky Raceland

In a competition for survival, there can be only one winner when the flag falls.

Taking a healthy dose of Mad Max and splashing it into the classic cartoon Wacky Races, and you get a dark and gritty adventure for Penelope Pitstop, Dick Dastardly, The Ant Hill Mob and many more. With the team of Ken Pontac (REBOOT & Happy Tree Friends), Leonardo Manco (Hellblazer) & vehicle design by Mark Sexton (Mad Max: Fury Road), we're in line for a blast of vehicular combat as the drivers face a desert wasteland full of cannibalistic mutants, radioactive lakes, nanotech dust storms and other dangers that they can't even imagine. The drivers race across the backdrop of a planetary Armageddon in hopes of surviving the race.

The Flintstones

This funny origin story of human civilization will retain the fun and quirk of old.

The modern stone age family is set for a new unique perspective at the hands of character designer Amanda Conner (Harley Quinn & Starfire) and writer Mark Russell (Prez & God Is Disappointed In You). The lovable family from Bedrock will retain much of their classic story line, but a new light will be shone on the ancient customs of the stone age. Fred will remain the simple man who hopes to be the king of his castle as he's surrounded by his best friend Barney and each of their classic families.

Each of these new iterations are set to debut in May, are you ready?
